The Challenge
Following a new CEO appointment and leadership restructure, ONR wanted to accelerate its journey from good to great. Strengthening cohesion, trust, and shared accountability across the Senior Leadership Team.
The ambition was to create a world-class leadership culture that reflected ONR’s role of protecting society through safe nuclear operations. Yet the shift required more than strategy, it demanded new ways of thinking, connecting, and leading together aligned to their People Strategy 2025.
Our Approach
We brought ONR’s Senior Leadership Team together to explore what was helping and hindering their collective impact. Through visual co-creation and open dialogue, leaders built a shared picture of what “great” would be like and the behaviours needed to get there. Individual coaching and team sessions helped turn that vision into action, strengthening relationships and creating confidence for honest challenge.
Real leadership growth happens in the work itself. When reflection, shared learning, and commitment move together.
Then Impact
ONR’s Senior Leadership Team moved from cautious collaboration to confident, connected leadership. Visual co-creation and live, in-the-work coaching turned strategy into shared ownership and action. Helping leaders move from theory to great leadership in action with a common language of trust, accountability and collaboration.
These behavioural shifts delivered tangible results: a 40% increase in trust, a 35% rise in project delivery speed, and visible improvements in psychological safety. Leaders reported feeling more united, purposeful and equipped to lead ONR’s mission with confidence.

“The team, led by Stuart, have taken a considered and focused approach to supporting us as a newly forming team seeking to take a step change in our leadership of a complex and high-profile organisation. Their programme is agile yet has a clear sense of direction and focus. We are regulators and have a passion for detail, which can get in the way. The ICE team have helped, and challenged, us significantly at both a strategic and behavioural levels. The team hold the space for us and are excellent at reading the room and managing the rhythm of development.”
