Following a CQC inspection rating of ‘Good’, Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust were seeking expert support to develop and embed a series of cultural and behavioural leadership interventions to move them to ‘Outstanding’ NHS Trust status. Their starting point was to determine their collective purpose or ‘why?’ - the motivational drivers for everyone with a connection to the Trust.
ICE used their ‘people-shaped’ approach, engaging with the entire Trust through qualitative insight, co-design and engagement. This identified NHS Homerton’s current and future ‘at best’ states and included energy mapping to establish clear pathways for the behavioural and cultural interventions and tools needed to transition the Trust to Outstanding.

Across the Trust and its stakeholders, Homerton achieved universal buy-in to a new distributed leadership model where every team is empowered to make decisions regardless of band or hierarchy.
