12 month modular programme to support Wirral Integrated Care System Sustainability & Transformation Partnership leadership team to ensure that citizens receive the best experience.

Challenge

The Wirral Integrated Care System (ICS) Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP) leadership team wanted to ensure that citizens receive the best experience - the right care, at the right time, in the right place.

Leadership and how leaders work together were identified as key to the successful implementation of a new model of place-based care

Solution

To focus on how leaders can support positive decision-making, we adopted the theory of supported choice decision making, a theory built from the understanding of how our system one and system two brains work in relation to decision making and which we have now evolved to include the principles of Red2Blue thinking developed by Dr Ceri Evans.

This model was applied using individual sheepdog sessions, with leaders engaging in a novel task in a novel way.

 

 

The Results

Increased energy and alignment as system leaders - as measured by Culture Map and qualitative interviews with the leaders and their leaders, in general the CEOs from the system. Qualitative data is presented in the table below
