At ICE, we are always growing into our new ways of working with new skills, new team and new clients – giving ourselves and the people we work with more freedom and choice each day to make better happen.
But in order to grow, we must reflect.
We asked our ICE team to think about what they have been most proud of last year. Every day, our team works to create amazing opportunities and make better happen, and it is important that we celebrate our best achievements.
Welcome to our ICEspirations…
Our people make us proud
What makes ICE so special is its people. At ICE, we recognise that our teams perform best when their individual strengths are allowed to shine, and the support they receive from each other is key to delivering world-class behaviour change, helping organisations and communities grow and develop the necessary tools they need to thrive
Amanda Madden, our Executive Director, is responsible for helping our ICE world keep turning. She spoke to us about how the people of ICE are what makes her most proud:
‘I love hearing stories of the difference we make as a team but behind every story is a member of our team who goes above and beyond, who truly cares and gives of themselves. I am truly inspired by the people that are part of team ICE.’
Marketing
Our marketing team help bring the ICE vision to life through creative copy and messaging. They produce content for our clients, our healthy lifestyle services and our ICE brand.
Their work across our digital platforms has helped to keep the ICE voice roaring throughout the many adjustments the last two years have brought, we really couldn’t have done it without them!
Pam, our Senior Marketing Manager, told us why she is proud to work for ICE:
‘There are so many things I’m proud of – being part of a committed and passionate team, having the space to be creative and curious and the real sense of purpose in my role. We are a team of many individuals and personalities, yet when we are at our best we are as one, Team ICE.’
At ICE, we work together – our individual strengths working in harmony as one Team ICE, this helps to make the work we do ever more impactful. We recognise that our teams perform best when their individual strengths are allowed to shine, and the support they receive from each other is key to delivering world-class behaviour change, helping organisations and communities grow and develop the necessary tools they need to thrive.
Design
Our chief designer and Creative Director, Ian, is our creative genius. From wall-length murals in Critical Care units, to animations, graphic scribes, brand identities, campaign assets and logos, our design team is the glue that keeps ICE’s creativity flowing.
When we create, we really get to the bottom of the meaning behind our designs, aligning our clients’ needs with our ICE promise – to make better happen.
Ian spoke to us about his proudest achievements this year…
‘With our team I’ve had opportunity to solve challenges across the world, in different languages, cultures and communities. I’ve helped to support communities from South Tyneside to Devon, deliver brands that create opportunity for growth and campaigns that engage with compassion, care and passion. We have delivered striking wellness and mental wellbeing campaigns, developed new skills and ways of getting things done, developed platforms for learning, championed breast feeding, sexual health services, smoking cessation and so much more.
I couldn’t do this without the great big team around me, our support team who create the structure and support we need to stay on track and facilitate the magnificent work we do. I have the unique and great privilege of working with excellent and committed people across such a range of projects and programmes, who all make me and what I do better.’
Insight
Insight is vital to creating deep and lasting change, something we work hard at ICE every day to help make better happen. From investigating how local parks can be enjoyed more by the public, to discovering the barriers preventing certain communities' uptake of essential vaccines – our Insight team works across the board to dig down to the root of the problem, making the production of solutions easier. Therefore, our Insight team is so important as they provide us with the research we need to solve real-world problems.
Nina, our Applied Behavioural Insights Lead, reflected on what 2021 meant for the Insight team:
‘Looking back on this year, Nelson Mandela’s words ring true: It always seems impossible until it is done.
I’m not only proud of the tangible successes but also the intangible stuff that is difficult to measure… to name a but a few, we have supported and stretched each other, adapted, and adapted again, lifted each other up and shown resilience.’
Being able to adapt and stay resilient - both as innovators and people - helped the Insight team to deliver consistent and effective research, even when the world seemed hard to figure out.
Finance
We are incredibly proud of our finance team, and the ways in which they support the wider ICE team to focus on creating change by ensuring everything is running smoothly. Jo, our Finance Director, told us about her proudest achievements recently:
‘This last year we have juggled a number of lockdowns and managed switching between home working and office working and then back again.
Our financial position continues to be strong; our recruitment and onboarding process is robust; our IT and security is the best it’s ever been. The team has grown by nearly 20%. Which all allows us to go for more complex and bigger tenders and contracts – all done by working together as a team.
A lot of the support team have developed new skills and are growing into new roles which makes me proud.’
Healthy Lifestyles Operations
Jayne, our HLS Operations Director, shared her highlights for the year, and what has made her most proud to work with ICE:
‘I’m most proud of being part of the support function for HLS Coventry team and watching them flourish in a challenging year - the service under the new improved leadership is going from strength to strength – mobilising the fantastic PCN programme, smashing outcomes out the park and now mobilising a new in-patient programme with the hospital – onwards & upwards – proud to be part of all we do in HLS and ICE – what a team.’
We are all ICEspirations, supporting each other’s strengths and coming together as one team. Being proud of the work we do and staying committed to making better happen is what makes ICE so special.
Now, we are asking you. What makes you proud?
